The Berkshire Environmental Action Team, the Hoosic River Watershed Association and the Housatonic Valley Association have received a two-year $29,218 grant from the Massachusetts Environmental Trust for a water quality project on the Hoosic River in Adams and North Adams. The funding will enable the three organizations to work with community volunteers to survey storm culvert outfalls and to test point-source pollution, specifically high levels of e.coli, running into the Hoosic River. HooRWA, BEAT and the Berkshire Regional Planning Commission completed a storm culvert survey in Adams in 2017.
