From June 15 through July 31, more than 50 nonprofits are participating in Northwest Corner Gives (www.northwestcornergives.org), a crowdfunding giving platform, created by the Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation to help local nonprofits raise matching funds for Covid-19 related expenses.
“Thanks to Northwest Corner Gives, we now have a safe place for people to be during the pandemic and beyond,” said Erica Joncyk, Executive Director of David M. Hunt Library.
“Northwest Corner Gives is a tremendous help as we cope with Covid-19,” said Judith McElhone, Founder and Executive Director of Five Points Center for the Visual Arts.
As the public gives to nonprofits through Northwest Corner Gives, the Community Foundation is matching gifts dollar-for-dollar from June 15 through July 31 up to each participating nonprofit’s campaign goal. Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation has committed resources to fund up to 75% of all nonprofit campaigns.
“Northwest Corner Gives is a platform that helps to unify our communities around a common purpose,” said Guy Rovezzi, Northwest Connecticut Community Foundation president.
