Berkshire Environmental Action Team (BEAT) and Housatonic Valley Association (HVA) are collaborating once again to continue our efforts of cleaning up the Housatonic River. In the past, we’ve pulled out shopping carts, inflatable pools, televisions, bicycles, and once even an ATM machine — and lots of other interesting stuff. What will we find this time?
DATE: Saturday, July 22
TIME: 9 AM – 1 PM
LOCATION: Meet at Wahconah Park (105 Wahconah St, Pittsfield)
We’ll split into small groups to tackle various sections of the river. After a couple of hours of work, we’ll all have some lunch provided by BEAT and HVA!
Prepare to get wet and dirty. Wear old sneakers, rubber boots, or waders. (We may have a few pairs of waders or hip-boots for people for loan — email us if you’re interested in borrowing a pair. Bring a full water bottle, as well as bug repellent and sunscreen if you need them.
To RSVP or ask questions, email team@thebeatnews.org.
