Cul de Sac at end of Trowbridge Lane
Bethel, Connecticut, United States, 06801
Celebrate National Trails Day while exploring the 700+ acres of Bethel’s Terre Haute property and learning about its history, wildlife and its role in the greater Housatonic Valley Watershed. Just some of the many highlights include twin vernal pools, the old town Ice Pond and dam, former carriage roads, foundations and walls, and a spectacular hidden overlook. With a little luck, the Mountain Laurel will be in full bloom. This is a fairly intrepid hike on mostly unmarked trails, one that even many locals aren’t familiar with. It’s a rare opportunity to see this hidden gem of town-owned land!
