Free paddle trip
Friday, August 8, 2014
A free paddle trip was led by HVA on Wednesday, August 6, in South Lee on a beautiful, flatwater stretch of the Housatonic River. Here the river, “ponded” by the Willow Mill dam, calmly meanders through fields and forests providing great views of Beartown Mountain.
The last trip of the year will be on Saturday, September 20, from 10am to 4pm, through Lover’s Leap Gorge in New Milford, Connecticut and up a portion of the Still River – a paddling distance of about six miles. A short portage is necessary to avoid an old “knee” dam. Suitable for adults and families with children 12 years and older.
